Burning Rubber!
So I was really close to 200 but since I didn't hit it dead on, I didn't color in another section of my tire. I am leaving tomorrow for a little getaway, and my GOAL is to just maintain my weight, not gain any. I doubt I will be able to lose, and don't want to stress it on my vacation but I also don't want to derail my progress either. It's a tricky balance, especially when there will be WAY more fun food options than Kenai/Soldotna can tempt me with. ;)
I have been desperately trying to get out of my old habits, but as you all know, old habits die hard! One of things that I usually don't work hard at, is my appearance. I am much more comfortable just throwing my hair in a knot on my head and sporting the sweat pants/hoody look. On Easter Sunday I actually wore a dress! Was I comfortable? Not at all. Did it stay on long? Not at all. As I start to see the inches come off I am slowly squeezing back into what I used to call my 'fat clothes', and at times I am super discouraged that even THOSE fit snugger than I want them to. But I keep my focus on the positives, at this pace I won't be in them long!
I haven't been measuring inches, like many have suggested, but I am noticing the difference, even if it is not as drastically affecting the scale. Did I mention the scale and I are NOT friends? I weigh myself a lot less often, and just keep fighting the good fight. I don't ever want to be consumed with weight loss. The scale will not determine my daily mood, as long as I am eating clean and getting in exercise I am a happy girl! I love after a couple weeks when I do step on the scale seeing results, when I weighed daily it was usually a disappointing event and it was harder to keep keeping on with that negative vibe weighing me down.
I am very much looking forward to summer...we stay crazy active all summer long and it is usually the time I am most successful in weight loss, I feel like I have the eating clean down pact, and the few times I have 'cheated' were not binges like I used to do, and I was able to get back on track immediately. Having that on track will really help, especially as summer rolls around summer campfire snacks roll around with it!
Thank you for all the encouragement! I have gotten letters from people I have never met before, who have read my blog and can identify with where I am at, and its has been amazing to be able to share my story with all of you. You all keep me accountable! Once I lose this tire, I will do another before/after pic, I am excited to see what a total of 40 pounds lost looks like myself! I also can't wait to start fitting into clothes that have been collecting dust in my office!
